The Gestalt RPG
A New Tabletop RPG by Little Red Goblin Games
About Us
Little Red Goblin Game LLC
We’re Little Red and we are an indie RPG publisher who have been at it for more than a decade now with a history of hits like the Necropunk Campaign Setting, the Nagual RPG, and over a hundred 3rd party books for games like the Pathfinder RPG (1st and 2nd editions), Dungeons and Dragons, and the like. We’re weird, we’re passionate, and we’ve been DYING to share Gestalt with the public for the last two and a half years! What started as a “COVID Project” became “the d20 system we always wanted to play” and has consumed our lives!

The Gestalt TTRPG
We developed Gestalt as “the TTRPG we always wanted to play”: a game that focuses on ease of use and ease of play and embraces the “Rule of Cool”. We break down the barrier to entry for players by writing rules in plain English (with “deeper rules” sections for specific rules interactions). Gestalt is a d20-based game that allows you to use 2 character classes by default* while using only a handful of concentrated abilities from each class. The tone is designed to be “Noble-bright roleplaying in a golden era of adventure”.
The game’s “Most Important Rule” says it all:
“Whenever rules come into conflict with ‘what is fun’, ‘what is fair’, or ‘what makes sense’ (in that order), the rules should always be regarded as subservient and may be disregarded or altered (either temporarily or permanently). That is to say, the spirit of the rules and the story being told always triumphs over any rules. Whatever is deemed fair and exciting by the consensus of all players is acceptable.”
On a personal level we’re also want to create a lively, creative, accepting, and permissive playspace for collaborative storytelling where players of all backgrounds can feel safe. Our book has deep discussions on consent, player/GM dynamics, and considerations when dealing with potentially taboo topics. We released it under the permissive ORC License to foster a growing gaming community.
We hope you enjoy our system and support us going forwards!
*Some games allow for “Gestalt Play” where each character has 2 character classes, hence the name of the system.
The Gestalt Bounty Program
Product Requirements
In order to be eligible for the Gestalt Bounty System a product must meet the following guidelines:
Wordcount
A minimum of 4,000 words of content. This word count excludes things like credits, advertising, licenses, and forwards.
Compatibility & Style Guide
The product must be compatible with the Gestalt Roleplaying Game and must generally adhere to the Gestalt style guide. This can be found in the GM’s Guide to Mayhem and Madness. It must primarily (~80%) be focused on gameplay elements/mechanics (i.e you may not release a fiction book, it must provide meaningful mechanics useful to players/GMs).
Exclusivity
The product must be exclusive to Gestalt. It may not be a hybrid product. (Example: A product that contains a Pathfinder 1st Edition version of a character class and a Gestalt compatible version as well would not be eligible.) You may produce separate products that are non-Gestalt exclusive. (Example: You could produce a Pathfinder 1st Edition version of a dungeon and then do a separate Gestalt compatible version of that dungeon. That would qualify.)
Quality & Ethics
We reserve the right to deny products that don’t meet a basic standard of grammar and balance standards. We will not accept products that present objectionable material (hate speech, excessively graphic, violence towards a real world group, etc). We are an inclusive group and do not suffer bigotry; we will not accept any material that broaches our ethical standards.
Publishing License
A qualifying product must be published under the ORC License, OGL, Creative Commons, or other similar license with permissive use terms.
Incentives & Rights
$50 bounty payout.
Permission to use any of the “GESTALT APPROVED” logos on your cover.
You retain full rights, under whatever licenses and other agreements you are using, and payouts to your products. We do not expect any monetary return.
Content Knowledge Expectation
The content produced must be, to the best of your ability, in line with the norms and expectations of a Gestalt RPG product. To that end you must own, have read, and understood both the Gestalt Core Rulebook and GM’s Guide to Mayhem and Madness. While we will not check this, we will review and act under the assumption that you have full knowledge of both products and the system paradigms and specifics contained within them. Submitting a product is a declaration that you both own and understand the content in both of those books.
Review and Payout
Products for review may be submitted once you have a finished product. We will not accept pre-final drafts.
Products for review are to be submitted via this form. We will not accept submissions via other means.
Products will be reviewed within 2 months (60 days) of submission. If they cannot be reviewed within that time period the publisher will be notified.
Upon approval you will receive an email at the address provided along with a payout at the Paypal address provided. We will only be providing payouts via Paypal.
If a product is rejected it may be resubmitted in 2 months time.
Additional Agreement Specifics

Little Red Goblin Games LLC reserves the rights to deny any product even if they meet the product requirements.
This agreement does not represent any further relationship between you and Little Red Goblin Games LLC beyond a payout and permission to use the GESTALT APPROVED on your cover.
You are not an employee nor are these works for hire: we are providing this bounty to incentivize the growth of the Gestalt community.
